FA Cup Finals 1

Welcome to FA Cup Finals
I have decided to start this blog in order to help people understand the nature and passion surrounding the oldest football trophy in the world. Ever since I was child and I was born in 1962, I always had an urge to collect FA Cup Final Programmes, for some reason I wanted to gather every cup final since I was born. With the advent of the internet it was and is possible.
Although I am finding my hobby an expensive one! The older FA Cup Finals and even some of the newer ones attract high prices and it is not unheard of too hear of a programme or ticket selling for several thousand pounds.
But the thing is it's not just about the money, there is a certain amount of charm, passion and even addiction to collecting these
finals and the history surrounding this footballing cup. Rather than starting with the earliest and working my way through, I am going to start with the cup final I want. I am for my sins an Arsenal fan, and a cherished memory of mine was the 1971 FA Cup final Arsenal v Liverpool. It is entrenched in my mind of when Charlie George scored for Arsenal and celebrated by laying down in the Liverpool Penalty
area. This was a special moment because not had Arsenal already won the League by beating Spurs in their last game but they also became the 2nd team to achieve the elusive double. Tottenham Hotspurs being the 1st in 1961.
